The strength of a Phinisi lies in its timber. We exclusively use the highest quality, legally sourced Indonesian hardwoods. The keel and frames are carved from immensely dense and water-resistant Ulin (Ironwood) from Kalimantan, while the hull and decks are planked with select-grade Teak from Sulawesi and Java. Our procurement process is rigorous, adhering strictly to Indonesia’s SVLK (Timber Legality Verification System) to guarantee sustainability and responsible forestry.
